Mornings used to be a battle when it came to getting my kids dressed, but I found a few things that made a huge difference.
Let Them Play with Color
My kids love experimenting with color — sometimes it's all purple, other times neon green. I stopped worrying about matching everything perfectly and let them have fun with it. Neutral basics like white, gray, and navy make it easy to mix and match, but when they pick their favorite bold colors, I go with it. If they’re happy, I’m happy.
Let Them Choose
I started letting them choose their clothes instead of making all the decisions for them. Giving them a couple of options — “Blue shirt or green?” — makes them feel in control, without turning into a battle. And if they want to wear a Halloween shirt in March or a superhero cape to the store, I let it happen. It’s all about letting them express themselves.
A little comfort and freedom can go a long way. When they’re comfy and feel like they’re part of the decision-making, mornings are much more relaxed and fun. Happy kids, happy mornings! 😊
